NS Religious Class - The only 'church' they get to go.

15 May 2008 : Have not beeing going in for 2 weeks due to Habour Day and NS 1 week break. Class started late today as they brougght the outstation students to visit Putra Jaya. By the time they got ready with dinner and shower. We only start our class at 9pm. It was a close fellowship with some of them that came earlier. Got to know that some of the outstation students spend their holiday with some friends around Selangor. Am just thinking maybe next batch we can apply few of them to stay with our youth so that we can host them.

Today class was on How to Read the Bible? Simple and directly. Illustration on asking them to do "Anything" with the paper given allow them to see that we need some instruction for life. And the Word of God is the manuel for life. Short class. But at the end of the class. Talk to 2 youth that were not able to attending any church and youth gathering back home. They take this class as their spiritual feeding. Hope can continue to pray and connect with them. One of them, a guy is sincerely seeking for a purpose and direction in life and at least this night He understand only our creator know us the best.

Was a great night with one of my youth V-Sheng driving my car home. Praise God for the safe jouney. hehe...I am so blessed because I dont hv to travel 3 hours in and out alone.

Record Breaking Night

28 Feb 2008 : We were slightly late for the class and the students were already waiting for us with anticipation. We thank God that they were still filled with excitement and energy despise this is the second last week of their training. We had a record of 70 students this week and 3-4 of them are first timer. After teaching in National Service with different batches. This is the biggest class I've ever seen so far.

Charmaine once again started the class with ice breaker that got the whole class to go wild. We can find laugher, sweat & hugs in this newspapers game. It was such a site to see them carrying their 'brothers' and 'sisters'.

After all the excitement, Nickholas led the "Setia" song as we were focusing on praying for the Country and challenging them take up their responsbility as a Malaysian Christian to make a different in praying and blessing the country.

Jing Ling was leading the class to pledge and pray for the country. We believe God can transform the nation and the youth humble themselves and look to the Lord.

Hock did the live talk on based on Youth Alpha. Sharing with them "How God guide us?" and "How to resist evel?". We hope to provide them some handle to lead their life with the help from God as they leave the camp and go back to their own individual home town. This week we have Vincent from Chinese church to assist and most of the photo was taken by him. Thank you Vincent!

Holy Spirit's night!

21 Feb 2008 : Another awesome night at the camp!

Night started with 'SuperHero' ice breaker conducted by Charmaine & Jing Ling. Class room was packed with more than 60 students. Roughly we had 5-7 visitors.

We have the Malaysia Youth Alpha Coordinator, Wini to do the live talk on "Holy Spirit". Even non-Christian was answering some of the questions in order to get the reward which is a chocolate bar. :) They were paying attention and the response to receive the in-filling of the Holy Spirit was simply amazing. Team mates were surprised by the reality of the Holy Spirit in doing His work in the lives of these youth people. around 20 came towards to receive the Holy Spirit.

Night ended with sowing seeds. There were 4 students accepted the Lord as their personal savior and friend at the end. Thanks to the help from a youth leader from Chinese church, Sheryl. She managed to connect and pray for the Chinese speaking youth. And I manage to share a simple gospel in 3 mins with a ground of 7-9 whom called themselves free thinker. Their response were very positive. We offered to pray for them whenever they are ready.

God is simply awesome this night.

Valentine's Day @ Kem Jugra

14 Feb 2008. A very special Valentine's Day indeed. We decided to bring some love to the campers. Some of my team members has to postponed their Valentine's celebration with their love one just to make it this session. This is what I called "Seek first the kingdom of God". V-Sheng started the night with simple chocolates which hope would bring some joy to them for the night. Nick did the crossing the line activity which let each of them know and identify with each other better. Best thing about this session was we still have new visitors coming in. I hope they are able to see the reality of Christianity. We did the lesson in "How and why we read the Bible?" When I asked them if they can tell me any love story in the bible, I was specially touched by a non-christian commended Joseph and Mary as a romantic story because he read the gospel comic "Manga Messiah" on how even Mary was pregant, Josept still accepted her. Wow! It was the last session Zai leading the worship in this camp before he fly off to Melb. He gave a speech and all the students showed their appreciation. We had around 40 students as some of them went for a Chinese New Year celebration.

I really enjoyed the 1.5 hours journey home each time with the team. We learned a lot from each other. I got the privillage to get V Seng to fed me ice cream while I drove home. So romantic. haha...Charmaine taught of some 'lessons' to understand female. hehe..

Shortest session

This session, we got Tim and Ling to join us. Tim was leading the worship in sweat. It was a wonderful presence of God. We had around 60 campers and many visitors shared why they decided to join our class. It was truly blessed and encourage to hear that. We were trying to cover the Topic in "How can we be sure of our Faith?" and "How and why we pray?". But it was a rush through session as half way through the class, they are required to go for a practice. We needed the session much earlier. So we reward ourselves at one of the most happening spot in Banting, the brand new McD with some ice cream.

Visitors start coming in...

We had a wonderful ice breaker.

This session was taken by Nick with a welldone translated slides in Bahasa. Nick was taking the session on Who is Jesus? and Did Jesus Die? It was good discussion especially for some Christian students that have been attending church without a through understanding of Christ. We had provoking discussion such as the conspiracy theory on the dealth of Christ.

We have around 50 plus students with lots of visitors compared to previous week. Continue giving out the comic gospel "Manga Messiah". And see that they are like it and even non-christian came to us and asked for it.

One of the guy told Charmaine that the best thing in this NS camp so far is the Christian class. Praise God and all Glory to Him.
